Public Consultation - Fix Broken Borewells

Public Consultation - Fix Broken Borewells

We intend to rehabilitate up to 200 Community Borewells in 7 Kenyan Counties in 2022-23. Most of them will be machine-bored hand-pumps, but we have not ruled out hand-dug covered wells, and machine pumped wells. We will work with local communities, which will form Water Management Committees. The wells may be in the grounds of a school or in a public space, but not in a private residence. All of the wells must be open to the community.

Hundreds of wells are broken and in need of repair. We have not yet determined which wells and will be pleased to hear which wells are broken. We will provide ongoing maintenance.
